  • What are the quick details of the trip?
Duration: 2.5 hours roundtrip Minimum Age: 12 years and older Weight: 90lb minimum - 300lb limit Trip Season: June 1 - October 15th Trip Route: Bate Island > LeBreton Flats Return Shuttle: Included from LeBreton back to Bate Island
  • What will I experience on the tubing trip?
The Turbo Tubing trip is 2 and a half hours total (including a shuttle ride back to the start point) down the Ottawa Mighty River from Bate Island to LeBreton Flats. You will meet our team at Bate Island 15 minutes before your scheduled trip time to fill in a release waiver. We will have a safety briefing and provide you with the necessary equipment including a tube, paddle, lifejacket, helmet, and a dry bag for your group. We will then head to the water and start our adventure by paddling our first rapid. After we conquer the rapids, we will continue down the river and experience more rapids, cliff jumping, our lazy river, and the beautiful Ottawa scenery. Throughout the trip, there will be opportunities to relax, take pictures, splash each other and enjoy the nature oasis. The trip ends at LeBreton Flats where we will shuttle you back to Bate Island.
  • Where does the trip start?
The trip starts at Bate Island, where you are able to park your car or lock your bike free of charge. You will find our reception kiosk at the beach. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure time, to sign your waiver and meet your guides. Meet us here:
  • What is the trip time?
We offer one scheduled trip time every day at 11:00am. Trips are two and half hours long, including the shuttle trip back to the start point. You are required to arrive 15mins prior to departure time, at 10:45am, to sign your waiver and get your gear! Please note: If you would like to book a private trip for a larger group (6+), we are happy to accomodate you and will work with you for a time that works. Please reach out to info@ottawaturbotubing.com and we will be back in touch as soon as possible.
  • What should I bring?
Proper Shoes (See FAQ for details) Clothes you feel comfortable getting wet-swim shorts and synthetic top Water Bottle Sunscreen A great attitude
  • What should I wear?
We recommend you wear a bathing suit or any synthetic or nylon clothing. Avoid wearing cotton as it stays wet and can make you cool. If it’s windy or cooler, a synthetic rash guard-type long sleeve and/or windbreaker could be brought along. We will provide you with a helmet and lifejacket.    For footwear, we suggest wearing shoes that can get wet. Water shoes, old running shoes or sandals with a back strap are all good options. Your feet will get wet. Footwear is a requirement.
  • What is provided on the trip?
A unique experience down the Ottawa River Turbo Tube-inflatable kayak/tube NRS helmet NRS Kayak Paddle Small Dry bag Shuttle back to start point from end of tubing trip (guests can leave directly from the end point if they choose)
  • Will I have to carry my tube?
Yes, there are a few times when you will have to lift your tube and carry it. At our first rapid you will have a chance to do the rapid a couple times. To do this you will have to carry your tube up to the top of the rapid to do it again. At the end of the trip you will have to carry it a short distance to the equipment trailer. The tubes are relatively light at 6.6 Kgs (about 14lbs).
  • What If lose my tube or fall off?
Your tube is very stable and it is highly unlikely you will fall out unless you decide to take a scheduled swim stop. If you wish to jump in for a swim, attach your paddle to the tube and it will float alongside you. A guide will always be around to help if you need assistance.
  • How do I book a trip?
Simply click the button below to reserve your spot on our trip.
  • Are there restrictions?
While we aim to provide a fun and unique experience for all, there are some restrictions to be aware of: Weight restrictions: 90-300lb Age restrictions: minimum 12 years of age Paddling Experience: Not necessary, however paddling is required on the trip (the trip starts with an introductory paddling lesson) Please Note: While the trip includes a lazy river, there are other sections of the trip that require some paddling to get to the next section. This trip aims to provide the best experience of relaxing, splashing and paddling for everyone, which includes introductory paddling instruction. For these reasons, we prioritize safety and physical capability. We have tandem kayak options for those who may face paddling challenges. If you have any concerns about your ability to participate fully, please let us know so we can make appropriate accommodations or suggest alternative options.
  • What is the Cancellation Policy?
Cancellations made 7 days or more before to the scheduled trip will receive a full refund. Cancellations made less than 7 days before the scheduled trip are non-refundable. Ottawa Turbo Tubing reserves the right to cancel or reschedule trips due to unforeseen circumstances (including adverse weather). In such cases, customers will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund. No-shows will not be eligible for refunds.
